About Geert

Hi, I'm Geert - an electrical engineer, developer, and entrepreneur with a passion for designing and operating float centers. My love for floating began in 2009 when I stumbled upon it in a book called ‘Living Deliberately’. In 2014, I bought my first tank and set it up in my living room, which sparked my journey into the world of floating. Two years later, I attended my first float conference in Portland and my passion for floating deepened.

I took a leap of faith and started a small float center in 2016, which became a success with a 4.9-star rating on Facebook and over 130 glowing reviews. However, I quickly realized that I wanted to do more than just operate a single float center. I wanted to create something that could benefit the entire float community. Later on, I started Floatland, a resource for float supplies and support.

My practical knowledge and expertise in float tank design and operation come from my experience running my own float center, helping others with their startups, and providing support. I have visited over 50 float centers across the US and Europe and earned a CPO certification in the US, the SEM certificate for water treatment, and worked with a BELAC-accredited lab (water treatment) for five years. I also invested twice in extensive training through Float Tank Solutions, a US-based consulting firm.

I offer a range of carefully selected products and items that can help float center owners improve their operations, including The Float Commander, an innovative operating system for float tanks. Additionally, I am committed to providing guidance and advice to help you succeed in the floating community and expand and grow your businesses.
