Float Away Anxiety - Excerpt 4

Float Away Anxiety - Excerpt 4

Floating LOWERS THE BLOOD PRESSURE in our body to 15 mm of mercury.

In order to measure the tensions in the deeper muscles of the body, blood pressure tests were carried out. The tests were done with floating sessions of 90 minutes and with watching a relaxing film. These objective measurements have an accuracy of 95%.

After only 5 to 10 minutes, the diastolic blood pressure, i.e. the negative pressure, dropped by 10 mm of mercury during floating. The drop is immediate and remarkably fast.

The pressure dropped further on average to 15 mm of mercury from a measured starting point. This drop persisted during the whole floating session. This can be seen in the graph in the blue curve.

These are not small effects, and physiological studies from the past rarely show such large effects. Feinstein attributes it to a kind of reflex of the body by being in the water.

The difference with watching the film is huge: blood pressure drops to a minimum of 6 to 7 mm of mercury and even rises above the starting point at the end!

This is the 4th excerpt of 18 out of Dr Justin Feinstein's talk at Float Conference 2018, Float Away Anxiety. Research results can be found at:
